A pre-serialized CQC-7B BT, rare?

So someone I know is selling a cqc-7b bt that doesnt have a serial number under the thumb notch. On ebay someone is selling one for $850 --> saying its a rare vintage version.
Is it actually rare and worth something?

Looks legit, but he's dreaming on the price, that's why it's posted on Ebay and not here or other popular knife forum classifieds.

Here is '99 CQC-7 number 5 that sold in '14 for $210, also unserialized on the blade.

But, I would agree that it's rare and vintage at this point. If it's worth it to you, go for it. Chances are, somebody will pay what they're asking on Ebay.
