Here's a sheath and knife I made as a KITH entry.
I enjoy making a scandi sheath, I like its unforginging but rewarding sleek design.
One piece of leather, one thread plus a way to attach it to a belt.
No glue, the D-ring holder is held in place by fricrion only.
I used a blue thread to match the knife's blue spacers.
So what do you guys think?
And the knife:
Traditionally a right handed person wears a scandi on his left hip, edge facing forewards
This is actualy the 2nd sheath I made for this knife. The first one I turned down.
Well I did use it to see how strong the friction hold of the D-ring holder is and hung on it with my 175lbs. The leather holds the D-ring gives.
After that, attached directly from the leather holder and it ripped before comming lose.
I also wrap the thread around itself twice before pulling it in to the leather.
By the looks of it strong enough to get you home to fix it if ever the thread should get cut.
