I do not practice the Atienza system exactly, but from what I have seen from them, it seems to be a good system with well-developed training methodology and well rounded set of tools and tactics, so you should join the training.
If the chapter has a certified instructor under the Atienza brothers or a senior instructor such as Leo Manalo or John Leung I think it would be a good place to train. The system is mostly based on the east coast.
