i've seen a whole bunch of different offerings in this category, i like the looks of the zipka, but i don't really know. what do you guys think? Also, is the zipka useful as hand flashlight?

I really like the zipka, decently bright, clean beam for close up work. It is a keeper because it is small enough to carry around, if I can't use a tool easily it just gathers dust somewhere.
 
Princeton Tec makes a very sweet headlamp !

I've got one in my truck, one in the old-ladys van, one on the motorscooter and two in the house. Gave one to my 7-year old son, on his last birthday, and he thinks it's the coolest thing since ice cream !

Ya just can't beat a headlamp ! :D
