Buck "Survival" Knife?

The only Buck fixed blade I currently own is the 119, so I'm rolling with this one.

2 years later the model still way out in front is the Frontiersman. Not difficult to see why. DM

I still find it interesting that the 110 is in second place. That says a lot about a folding knife.

I'm surprised the Ron Hood series aren't higher on the list. Since they were designed by a great outdoors man. Maybe the lines of the classic Bucks outweigh design. Although the 124 is good design all the way around.

Tah, I think a 2 dot 110 can take you a long way. Especially if a few screws were added.
Mak, yes, those were designed for this market area and guys didn't go for them.? DM

Got it. Thanks! How effective is the saw on wood?

Personally, I think the 118 blade is too slim and delicate for a survival knife, but like you, I'm surprised no one has chosen the Vanguard.

I will give the Vanguard a go. Enter the 192 Alaskan Guide.

Remove my entry for 060 Hoodlum. I never did buy one, so I guess I won't miss it.

Updated! Frontiersman, Folding Hunter, and Special still with a commanding lead.

I'll weigh in with the 119 with the black handle and aluminum for less weight. The 119 is a Jack of all trades.

And with that, we have a tie for second place.
