+1- Why fly? You're asking for trouble. Ground is the way to go- see the country and enjoy it as you go. As John says, if you're discrete enough you can get away with carrying anything without being hassled. Discrete is the key word!

This is what I said in an earlier thread. Of course if you have to fly or are entering somewhere else with security checks, then things aren't so simple. In that case you do need to go with a "Plan B". The point is, carrying without drawing attention to yourself and doing nothing to require a search from an LEO or some other person of authority, you should be able to get by with carrying whatever you feel comfortable with. Again, discretion is the key word. If you don't agree with this approach, then be sure to read up on the knife laws of all the places you plan to be in or pass through, and as someone mentioned, pay particular attention to the (bleeding heart) municipalities who tend to crusade for all that is good.
