First off, I think you guys did an excellent job with this knife. I'm glad you did not change Carson's pattern any. But my question is, what exactly is the steel used in it and what composition are we talking about? What are the constituents?

I've been told it's a modified 420HC or something along those lines, but how much carbon, chrome, vanadium, molybdenum, etc, is in it?
 
Blade is standard 420 HC. We tried to be true to Kit's design.

Jeff, if 420HC is a modified 420, then how much Carbon(%) is in it and what does the edge rockwell at?
 
the 420 HC is around .44 carbon. It is real close to the AL425mod except it does not have the Moly..
