Joining the Busse Strip Club

Nope...I got really lucky with my HUCK, only grinder marks were under the handle slabs.

That is AWESOME! Good call on the etch and strip,, much better than the gold imo

around the handle imprint = decarb rust for sure...seen it form before my very eyes dozens of times...

but that nasty looking red stuff around the "B" doesn't look kosher....

BTW, I'm wondering if the "B" is for Bruiser or Blue...several Busse's I've "unhandled" have some kind of notation for handle color match up with blade color or handle color, or both.

UPDATE:
I FINALLY got the NMFBM done. Finished her Sunday 4/9/17.
There was a LOT more sanding than either the DTBM or the AA. The NMFBM had a ton of grinder marks right down to the cutting edge. They were rough enough that I though they might affect cutting performance, so I decided to do my best to get mostly rid of them.

Over all, I'm very pleased with the way she turned out. Not satin, but a nice working finish.

Now I have to decide who's next...

GORGEOUS!!!
Nice work on all those evltcat!!

I picked up a fat ASH1 a short time ago that arrived on Sat.
I was gonna beat the paint off but was really curious to see the finish beneath.
Sure glad I didn't wait!! No tooling marks and it looks to have been blasted before coating.

^--- stjones stjones Oh, man that is a great score! Congrats!!!
Got an ASH-1 on my list for later, if I can score one before Andy sees it! ;)

Couple of in-progress pics after an etch and strip on my CGBB13.

Stripped the tanker gray blade and found... tanker gray decarb!:

After an aggressive round with 60 grit paper, still a ways to go for sure:

Blade is really clean overall, one small pit and a few tiny ones on the back side, none on the front.

^--- inkynate inkynate That's interesting... When I did my AA, it was a Tanker Gray too, but it had the darkest decarb of anything I've seen yet!
That is AWESOME!!! I think the BB13 CG is going to make the list now!

So, I'm thinking for round 2 at the 'strip club:

AK-47 BG
BB-13 CG
Battle Shark

I'm chickening out on the Battle Saw until I see if I can deal with CBT. ;)

Hopefully I can start round 2 next week.

Well guys I'm officially in the club!! I was at home today working around the house and thought what better time than now to strip my TGLB.

(I have quite a bit of work ahead of me but I am SUPER stoked about the results so far!)

Love me some shiny, hard workin' TGLB!!!!!:thumbsup:

Round two is under way!

I took some etched / stripped pix this time. I did another three at the same time since the chemical etch takes like 3 hrs.
I only got them etched and stripped, I'm planning on starting the sanding/polishing next week

The AK is quite clean compared to the rest.

#2 BB-13 CG:
I forgot to take some before pix of the BB-13.
Etched and stripped:

Grinder gremlins chewed on her, both sides.

Still, the gremlins aren't on the primary bevel so they're really an aesthetic thing...

#3 Battle Shark
Got all excited here too and didn't take any before pix...
Etched and stripped:

I'm really glad I chickened out on the Battle Saw! ;) Got a feeling I'm going to be working on her for a long while...

I'm going to start with the AK and will post more pix when I get her done!
