Got out this morning with a couple of good friends to do a little salmon fishing. We fish from about 6:30 to about 9:30 this morning and got our three man limit of 15 coho salmon. Just a beautiful day on the water, nice and calm, caught a lot of fish and had a lot of fun.

You are aware of how jealous I am, right?
That looks like a fantastic day.

It gets better Mack, my friend Pete and I went back out this afternoon and caught another limit a piece again including a 9.4# coho I caught and a bonus lake trout about 8-9# which my friend caught and released. The big King salmon are just starting to show up now and should be in thick by first week of July, and that is some real fun there.IMG_2027.jpgIMG_2026.jpg

We don't lots big cohos but in the spring we've been catching lots of smaller 5-7 # fish, right now were were catching fewer coho but average weight right now is about 8-10 #, a little later on the chinook run begins and we can get fish in the 20-30 # range. And that's a lot of fun.

I love salmon fishing on Lake Ontario. We have a camper and a cottage next door to the marina. Our camper is at the marina we keep our boat in. A Penn Yan Avenger outfitted for fishing the lake. keepem sharp

I love it too but the DNR is not stocking nearly as many Kings anymore by us and if thats going be the new trend I'm probably going to sell the boat in the next couple of years.
