Here is a piece I just finished up today. A large clip point design that would work well in the woods. I put this together using 5160 steel 1/4in thick. The scales are green canvas micarta. This design falls somewhere in between a large knife and a small machete in use. Pretty handy IMHO :) Overall it is 16 3/4in with 10 7/8in of that being blade. It is about 2in wide at the riccasso. weighs in at 24oz.

That looks like it'd survive a bombing. I'm sitting here trying to think of something that knife wouldn't chop through, which is a very small list, haha.
 
Good looking knife you made there, Congrats nice job on it. That should make a real work horse of a knife.
