Looking to make an Apron similar to the one in the image. I don't have a leather supplier nearby so I'm planning on web order through Tandy or other.

The leather appears thick yet flexible. I'm looking for best guesses on the type/weight of leather in the picture so I know what to order?

I'd also wouldn't be opposed to PM's with a quote to have someone else do the work :) but I will probably do it myself.

Thanks!

Thats oil tan (a heavy chap leather), probably 5/6 oz. If I were entertaining the project I'd also look at pearl apron split sometimes called mulehide (it isn't) in the cowboy world. Its used to make farrier chaps, hay bucking chaps and saddle horn wraps. Tough stuff and comes in different tempers (how firm it is). I made my son a pair of shoeing chaps from some firm temper mulehide and he had to drag em behind the truck a while to break em in. The oiltan will come in different tempers too. That looks to be relatively firm temper in the pic.
