Multi-tool roll call

hi everybody.have been using a multi tool now for 15 years working in a graveyard everyday.use one pretty regular every day from putting death dates on old bronze markers to fixing tractors to cutting weed eater cord and etc.broke alot in 15 years also from leatherman supertool to gerbers to swiss tools and saks and so on.got me a sog powertool and so far after one year of torture,i cant break it yet to replace it with a new design so i carry a sog powertool and a sak huntsman plus on the weekends for light duty jobs.is there any thing tougher than a powertool.let me know so i can try it out because the powertool is a big brute for heavy jobs.

Cant understand why i never replied to this thread the first time round ,well done Derf for bringing it back to life

LM Charge Ti and bit kit
LM Supertool 200 and tool adapter

Vic Swistool and wrench

Okay, what's a "Gak?" I've never heard of it.
GAK = German Army Knife, i.e. the German standard army issue utility knife. Basically a Victorinox One-Hand Trekker, with olive-drab scales:

I am a newbie to this, but, I have:

An older Gerber multitool (in bugout bag). Damn thing pinches the hands!

No-name multi-tool (with built-in hammer) in the car beside the front seat (came in handy while camping once). Seems damn sturdy, but is cheap. Was a gift.

An Eddie Bouer mini-tool, kinda like a Micra, but bulkier, cheaper, and with a LED light. It rides in the glovebox, and was a gift.

Wenger Classic (?). Nice scissors, but the blade dulled FAST, and it doesnt seem to "lock" open well (I know it doesn't really lock).

Victorinox Recruit. Trip through the dryer warped the cellidor scales. It is being repaired (I think). Really like this little knife...

Swisstool. I LOVE this beast. I carry it when working around the house. Every thing is tight and it locks. The blades are freaking sharp.
I wouldn't mind trying a similar Leatherman with the attachable bits.

Victorinox Cadet Alox: Just ordered it. Paid about $20 shipped, but I kinda liked the silver better than the copper. Don't have to worry about the handles warping if my wife washes/dries it!

I am really drawn to the Victorinox stuff.
I would love to have a Vic about the size of the Cadet/Recruit, or a hair shorter (3"?) with: One handed locking main blade, flat screwdriver, philips screwdriver, cap lifter and can opener. It would be a total bonus if all of the implements locked! Optional/removeable/orientable pocket clip would be nice.

Can we inspire Victorinox to apply their WONDERFUL locking system (used on the Swisstool) to a pocket knife?

Bob

Here's mine (in no particular order):

Leatherman Wave (pre-2002 / 2004)
Leatherman Charge Ti
Leatherman Micra
Victorinox Deluxe Tinker
Victorinox SwissTool Plus
Victorinox SwissTool X Plus (<- My EDC)

=)

Leatherman SuperTool (on my belt all the time)
Leatherman original (gift from my gym buddies in California when I moved home to Indiana)
Leatherman original (prize from winning MM metal sights in NRA Action Pistol Regional Match last year)
The first tiny, folding leatherman (a gift from a friend)
a couple of Gerber multipliers of various vintages (the current is in the back pocket of my jammies when I'm in the house)
many SAKs

Original Gerber
LM Supertool -2
LM Micra
LM Minitool
LM Charge xti

LM Supertool
Supertool 200
PST
Micra
Squirt P4
Charge Ti

Vic Swisschamp
Tinker
Minichamp

And by my standards, getting out of hand. I accumulated almost half of these since this thread was launched. It's time to pare down, but how? All of these widgets have earned a niche in my day-to-day. Every time I consider jettisoning one or another, I conclude instead it can be uniquely useful for some or another situation and so it stays.

I have tried and rejected some multi-tools, but the trend seems to be in the other direction. :(

LM:
Fuse
Wave
2004 Wave X2
Micra

SOG:
Black EOD Powerlock

Gerber:
400 Compact Sport :thumbdn:
600 Black Blunt Nose

Now that I have one, I EDC it! I think this is the best overall tool that Leatherman has come up with and the Price seems OK for the function you get. Love the Big Blades and Big Pliers!
