I recently upgraded my beloved CS Recon1 for years to the newer XTS carpenter steel from AUS-8A. Thought you guys might like it.

Just upgraded but i need to work a chip out. Is that easy to do with a diamond?

Looks good i've beat the living crap out of one of those and its held up great. I haven't chipped the blade so idk, its easy to get a hair popping edge though with diamonds and i sharpened all the way back to the notch and that removed quite a bit of steel so I'd think it wouldn't be too bad to remove a chip.

Diamonds should make short work of it. XHP isn't too terrible to sharpen. It's supposed to be a more stainless version of D2, but I find it easier to sharpen than D2. Could have something to do with the particle metallurgy process used to make XHP, but I don't know.
