This is our new engraved series coming. These will be very limited. The art for this piece is by one of our artists from the new Begg knives art team. Her name is Amanda @maleficmandietattoo we worked very hard with her to make this possible. We can now offer limited runs of engraved art without the high price or the wait. Although we have great respect for hand engravers this technology can now make it possible to reproduce original art. We have a lot of surprises coming with this series, this is just the beginning. This piece is called "The Dragon Lady" stay tuned for more pics of the other side. All of these will be numbered by the engraving inlay. We will be doing these with different frame and blade configurations but because the art will be the same in the limited run it will be numbered by the art. This is engraving #2

Come check out our latest Norse style engraved Bodega with art from Jimmy Bruce @jbrucetattoos at our booth @usngatheringlv in Vegas next weekend and see what we have been up too. This is a full mirrored frame with a full satin finish DLC coated blade. The engraving on these are very deep and when you look at the bands and Celtic patterns it is apparent from a distance. This is not a surface engraving. When we started these we wanted to make sure when you looked at them you could really see that the engraving was not superficial.

This is a mirror polished frame with DLC coating. This took a long time to accomplish this effect with DLC to get the coating to work. We have spent 5 years doing R and D to understand the complicity of this coating and how to get it to work with different surfaces and to get the recipes to work for our requirements. DLC does not just stick to mirror surface there is a long journey to get to the place where you will get consistent results. All DLC is not made alike they can differ as much as your aunties cupcake recipe to the local store bakery. So if someone tells you something about DLC ask them how much time they have spent with a person who has a PHD in the field. This is what it takes and lots of research and development with lots of failures to finally turn a corner where the ah ha moment happens. These frames are the fruit of that long arduous path.
