Question about a new Boker.

Hi, all.

I found this Boker today and brought it home. I have several Bokers already and plan on giving this one as a gift. It has an H. Boker/Solingen tang stamp.

It came with a box, but I’ve realized it isn’t the box that came with the knife. This one is a 280 pattern but my question is are the scales bone, or Delrin?

Looks like bone to me. If it's Delrin or some other synthetic substance they did a really good job of making it look like bone.

It's bone. I have a few similar Boker's that use the same shield, and I believe the scales were marketed as Appaloosa bone due to the patchy shades of brown and white. Reminiscent of the colors of the Appaloosa horse.
