So, if you or someone else just did some anodizing on the titanium the knife will no longer be covered by warranty?
 
I requested a new pivot a week or so ago, hasn't arrived yet, but I'm guessing its going to take a while to ship from China.

I think he means that SoCalKnifeworks no longer provides the Stateside service and support for Reate knives. The original post gave him as the contact for support and he edited to show that he no longer offers that support.

I hope Reate can get a new service site. At their current pricing, that's kind of necessary.

OK thx. That explains. I read the OP first, which contains info of him no longer offering the service on Reates behalf, and then his second post, without paying attention to the dates. Anyway, this lack of promptly available service is somewhat concerning to me given Reate knives price point.
 
are there any updates on this? they are going to crash hard if they end up having the same reputation as microtech. they are great knives, but they don't have the wow affect of an automatic, which is the only reason IMO that MT is even still around.

Reate - could you please be a bit more specific, like where (China or USA) what types of warranty work will be done, how soon they can be done, and whether shipping will be covered?
 
Reate Knives Warranty Information:

*1. Each knife we send to our customer goes with some additional accessories such as little screws and steel tapered ned, just for future use.
*2. Reate will repair or send a new one to customer and pay for the shipping for the deficient one back to China if there is a quality problem.
*3. If you choose to replace the knife, we may replace it with the same model or one of equal value. The original knife must be shipped to our appointed address.
*4. If the knife is damaged due to misuse, Reate can repair it free of charge, but the shipping will be borne by customer. Repairing includes changing small screws, the finishing repairing of blade and handle. The repairing can be finished within 3 to 5 working days depending on the level of damage.
*5. Any modifications to the knife made by customer will void the warranty.

I just received replacement screws for my Reate Torrent via China. Once it was shipped, it got here in three days. Thank you Joan Lu and Reate knives.
