Just finished for a client.

The old:

The new:
On the knife I replaced: all stacked leather disks, front and back spacers - were plastic, now Ebony, the guard, and the innermost of the three steel butt plates. I re-welded the broken "T" at the end of the tang, reground/trued the tang shoulders, and reground the bevels and secured two, toothed, peened pins in the butt end(the original had two oddly shaped screws that I cut to disassemble the original). The leather handle was sanded to 600 grit with various intermittent additions of gum tragacanth and mink oil and staining with a combo of dark brown leather dye and vinegaroon.

The new sheath of 6/7 oz. veg tanned leather is now a "righty" at the request of the owner.

Very cool refurbishment. A lot of work went into that one. Looks great.

Looks great, I love seeing new life breathed into a classic like that:thumbup:
