I picked this up at a gun show recently. I am not very familiar with Randall made, but I know they take 5 years to order, and are pretty pricey... and this was one of the nicest, well built leather sheaths I've handled so I snatched it up. I hoped it would fit an old KaBar that was my grandfathers... but not even close. I was going to put it up, but I have no idea what I have here.

Can anybody tell me what I have? Age, authenticity, value, what knife it goes to, etc?

Hi, it's an original mid 1970's to mid 1980's Johnson Roughback 'C' model sheath for standard hilt Model #15, #17, and #18-5.5 Randall Made knives. Looks to be in excellent shape, but is missing the orange sharpening stone, the leg tie-down, and one of the handle tie-downs. Those are fairly desirable sheaths. I've had many, and typically sold 'em for $80 to $100. Hope that helps.

I don't think I could ask for more info than that... I was sad it wouldn't work with my my late grandpa's 20's vintage kabar, but aparantly it was $20 well spent anyway. THANK YOU!

You're welcome. Pet a random dog and we'll call it even. ;)
