Hi, I'm not a great sharpener but i can put a decent edge on my knives. But i want to get a nice sharp polished edge on my knives. Whats a good system that I can do this with? I also am thinking of systems so that I won't mess up my higher end knives. I own a Lansky system but I don't really like that specific system though I do like the preset angles and such.

I've done some looking around and DMT systems looks promising.
I was thinking a Good DMT system and finnish up with a strop.

Any suggestions?

The DMT Aligner is great. I use the clamp with 6x2 stones for setting the bevel angles, and they give perfect edges.

I just bought an Edge Pro Apex, and I love it. Makes short work of sharpening knives. It's sooooo much easier and better than the Smiths sharpener I've had for years. And with 5 available stones from 120 to 1000, you can put any kind of edge you want on your knives. Not to mention the fact that the water stones on the EP are so much easier to deal with than the oil stones on so many other systems.

.....or if you want to avoid the hassle just pick-up a Sharpmaker and save your self the trouble:thumbup:
