The following list is for reference purposes.

*** Please keep in mind some specs can and do sometimes vary a bit from knife to knife. Sometimes the same knife is released at different times with slightly different grinds, thickness or handle materials. I have tried to specify significant variations in grinds such as "Full Flat" vs. Saber grind - when and where relevant. But, even with essentially same grinds and "visible" appearance, weights can vary.

Typically, Busse and kin lengths per knife are VERY close and consistent. Most knife weights with same grinds and handle options are pretty consistent, but weights are more prone to variance than dimensions.

G10 is known to weigh more than micarta. Hand shaped scales, magnum scales and similar scale variations from Busse can cause weight variences, along with "Variant" grinds, etc.

Blade lengths are measured from end of handle material to blade tip.

Res-C handles typically have less handle material forward of the grip than micarta/G10 scales. So, handle shapes and sizes forward of the grip area affect measurements of "Reach" of the blade from the grip.

I found a OLD post in Rat Chat stating the D2 Safari Skinner weighed 6.7 ounces.
Feel free to confirm. - Again subtle variances sometimes exist.
 
No worries, my D2 Safari Skinner came to 191.6g on the digital scales at work or 6.76 oz.

Thanks for the extra confirmation. A variance of .06 ounce (1.7 grams) is no big deal on that size knife and it would not be uncommon to see larger variances. I had 6.7 ounces, but since you seem to have a VERY accurate digital scale, I will go ahead and round up to 6.75 ounces on the chart. :thumbup:
Still, actual variances WILL and do exist. The original 6.7 ounces could have been dead on for "That" knife.

The mentallity of "Ballpark" weights for comparison needs to be kept in perspective. As I receive multiple specs, I am trying to average as reasonably as I can.

Great list! I'll contribute what I can for the missing Busse stuff.

On a $20 harbor freight digital scale I got the following weights. Did not have a tape handy for lengths.

BOSS Jack CG Large choil with G10 is 12.35 oz
" proto large choil with micarta is 11.55 oz both versions are .22 thick

SAR 3 SE in G10 weighs 5.50 oz

Skinny ASH1 (micarta) (Convex grind) = ??? ounces; .1875” thick; 6.4” blade; 12.0” oal = 14.85 oz with the mag micarta

Gladius = ??? ounces; .30” thick; 16.0” blade; 23.0” oal = 40.40 oz for a CG with G10 before stripping and handle smoothing 40.00 after

The hard to find coated NMFBM show version with machined G10 mags is a monster with .285 thickness and 35.30 oz

I will have to report back with TMDSF, ASH-1 LE, Ruck, and AK47 weights after I take my scales to that location. I think the unlisted Team Gemini is at said location.

I sort of hinted over on the Busse forum to see if this info was of interest to make a sticky or add to thatmguy's "Important Busse Information Consolidation Sticky", but "Nobody" - not one single reply with any interest. :confused:

I would be happy to re-configure it to prioritize the Busse info. ;) ... But, I don't want to feel like I am forcing an issue. I would have thought the info would be appreciated and wanted by many... especially over time for convenient access and comparisons (????).

I am glad Eric stickied this here. I hope others find value in the info.

The new RMDxLE is the first Swamp Rat "knife" to come with a "FULL height" factory convex "Primary" grind (no secondary edge grind) and worth noting on the specs above - so I will edit to add convex grind to the spec info on the RMDxLE. :thumbup:

The Wakizashi has a convex primary grind, but secondary edge bevel.

To my memory, those are the only two blades to have a convex primary grind from "Swamp Rat".

Busse has released a few factory convexed blades including the: AK-47, Ruck, SJTAC, SAR5, SAR4, SAR3, SAR8, Skinny ASH1, ... Maybe the Bushwacker Mistress (????)... and maybe some others (????).

No Swamp Rat or Scrap Yard to my knowledge has ever come with a hollow grind. And no Scandi grinds.
Busse has released a few hollow grind knives over the years, but there is a long history of earlier variants.

All others from Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard have been some variation of a flat grind - either saber or full height - with a secondary edge grind. The LARGE majority of Busse knives (like 99%) have been flat grind as well.

Edges are a different matter. Some seem more flat than others. Some seem slightly convex. YMMV.

Didn't notice a Scrapyard Dumpster Mutt (full flat grind & double cut) in the list....
So here we go:
OAL=9.5
Blade=5
Thickness=0.25
Weight=7.7 ounces

Just so you know I came in here for info on the handle because it seemed a little small, measuring out at roughly at 4.5 inches. Which I have no clue if this puts it into the small Res-C handles or the large.
