Well, to be honest, I did not get too many pics of the 16 at work, though I did get a couple of glamour shots. However, I figured I would share evidence of a hike I went on with some friends this last weekend.

The Pacific NW is where I call home and it contains some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. And before you think about moving here, just know that it sucks ballocks and you will hate life ever after. Seriously though, you won't like it, stay away. :D

For our hike, we opted to do a 12 mile round trip trek in the awe-inspiring Columbia River Gorge. However, it would seem that every Tom, Dick, and Harry, along with their brothers and cousins, thrice removed, shared our grand idea so the trail ended up being a lot more crowded than I am comfortable with. So though I had the 5 in the sheath I got from 91bravo, I opted to keep it in my pack and just carried the 16 outside, I didn't want to make other hikers unnecessarily uncomfortable... Though I did break the 5 out to make a walking stick, the looks I got from passerby's were a wee bit comical, so back in the pack it went when I was done.

My apologies for the less than awesome photography. Sun was bright and my cellphone can only do so much...

To kick things off, a pic of the gang I was with for this outing. This was not too long into the hike.

The Gorge endured some pretty hefty storms this past winter:

Despite the crowded trail and some of the damage and slides caused by winter weather, it was a fantastic hike. It felt good to get out, breath some fresh air, and stretch the legs a bit. Had the trail been less occupied, I might have attempted a fire. I'll save that for next time... Hope you guys enjoy the pics.

Enjoyed the pics.
I swear - I've hiked exactly once in the PNW, and we were on that exact trail.
Glad you got to get out. Most of my ambling this spring has been around whatever neighborhood I'm in at the moment. And I've got a 16 begging to get grimy.

Looks like a great hike!
Fantastic pics.
Thanks for sharing Paddy!

That's a beautiful place Padruig! Don't slip and fall though! You didn't snap a pic of your 5 in its new sheath?

Outstanding pics! That looks so different than here. It is still winter here. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Man, what a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone! I am very fortunate to live in this area. The PNW has it all, mountains, forests, rivers and lakes, just a fantastic area, especially if you like the outdoors.

Its quite possible you've been here. I didn't realize it until after we had planned the hike that this is a particularly popular area to recreate in. It is called the Eagle Creek Recreation Area, the main trail takes you through a number of rather picturesque waterfalls. 12 miles is a goodly distance to hike on a casual day, so most folks I came across were only going in about 1-2 miles to hang out at the first set of falls. Trail became a lot more quiet after that which was rather nice.

Yeah... I am kicking myself for not pulling it out for a good photo op. I was rather concerned with weirding people out with knife staging. By the time the trail quieted down and there were far fewer people, I was caught up in enjoying the hike and didn't take as many pictures in general. However, here is a pic with the pack I used on the hike, does that count? :D

Amazing photos! Thanks for posting, love the stipple work on that 16.

Thank you! The stippling sure turned out better than I expected and was a cheap way to personalize the blade and give it some added grip as well.

That looks like a beautiful place! Thanks for the pics!

Thanks for uploading those seriously beautiful pictures. The stippling and coloring on the bk16 look great.

You all are very welcome, it was a pleasure to venture out and take a few pics along the way. I am rather fortunate to live in some pretty spectacular territory.
