I haven't worn a watch in forever, don't know much about them but it's been a pleasure looking over this thread. Impressive hardware for sure. So what would be a good sport style watch in the $200-$250 range? I hope y'all don't mind me asking.
I don't mind you asking bro, I'm glad you did. You know I haven't worn a watch for the last 9 years, been using my phone, and like you I have been reading this thread for the last hour or so; I agree, there are some impressive watches here.
For about 200 bucks you can get a Casio G shock and you'll be happy, like this:
I've had that one for about 6 years and I haven't changed the battery, the solar cell recharges it, very cool and tough, water resistant to 20 Bar, or 200 meters; I think I paid around 125 for it back then.
For around the same, maybe a little more, you can probably find a Seiko like this one:
this is an automatic, can't hack it though, but it runs very accurate, also WR to 200 meters.
Also, this one I think it was about 75 bucks, it is also an auto, it has the NH35A Seiko movement, very accurate, cheap and good looking copy of a Rolex Sub, 200 Mtrs Water Resist, it also has a display case back.
This one is a Russian Poljot, manual wind, but it was a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, maybe you can find one out there, it's old but is water resistant to 100 meters and it was cheap, maybe 300? Can't remember.
I haven't used it in years, as you can see it needs to be cleaned, oh well.
Then, there is also Maratac, but they're hard to find, I think CountyComm used to sell them, it has a compass, made by Timex but the watch is sterile, kind of cool:
I used to have Cartiers, Omegas, and other expensive brands but I sold them after I broke my back trying to save my home from foreclosure; at this point I don't care much what the time is so I just have the phone; and knives of course. Maybe when I feel more creative I'll post some better shots of watches with CRK knives.
Anyway, I talk too much I know, but good luck in your watch search; Casio is a good brand and they're affordable; they're also getting fancier with analog faces and solar power, etc. I'd get another knife instead, but that is just me.
Peace.
