Seems a few months ago they were in stock everywhere. Now that I want one, they are discontinued?

They still show up on CS's site, on page two of the fixed blade section. They do currently show "out of stock," and knifecenter has them listed as "delayed by the manufacturer," so I think there's just been a hiccup in the supply chain, but it doesn't look like they've been discon'd.

edit: Looks like they are in stock at Knife Works. You might shoot Roger an email to confirm, though: help@knifeworks.com

I should have specified that I was looking for the Aus8 version but The VG-1 will have to do, I didn't think to look at Knifeworks because I always forget to check them.

Ah, okay. Yes, the AUS-8 versions are discontinued. :(

edit: You might be able to find one here on the exchange. Worth a shot.

i like the vg1 more than aus8. vg1 is a very clean stainless, take a very good edge and holds it well. course aus8 is a fine steel too, but its nitpicking on which is better. i doubt anyone could notice the difference in actual use.

They are coming back. Picked one up last week from KnivesPlus and got an "in-stock" notice from Blade HQ a few days ago.

On a related note, anyone in the aftermarket making kydex sheaths for these The knife is awesome, the factory sheath is so-so.

Ordered mine from BladeHQ today. Always wanted one, just not enough to pay the $80 price tag.

I ordered one around the new year and it didn't arrive until April or so. I love those knives.
