Why does the new software not hold my login?

I am automatically logged out on my Ipad, Iphone and desktop using chrome/windows10 every time I close out.

This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. I hope we can find a solution to this.

Bookmarking the https address solved the problem on my desktop. No problem with the iPhone.

This just started for me a couple of days ago. Mac OS X laptop, firefox. After reading through the posts here I cleared the cache - didn't work. Then tried adding "https://" in front of any page URL, magically I'm logged in. Open a new tab without https, I'm not logged in. Open another with https, I'm logged in.... etc. So as long as I use https it seems to be fine, but if I use any non-https address I'm automatically (temporarily) not logged in.

Site will only let me log in if I use Facebook. Will not recognize my password.

Any official word about what's wrong with the site?

The only official word would have to come from Spark Spark
Wish there was more that we could do. When I was on vacation north of my location for a week, I used my android phone to do some surfing of BF.
Every link that I clicked on here had to be modified with the https://
I bookmarked a few, but it was a bit tedious to go down through the bookmarks to follow to different areas of the site I like to visit.

Just started this evening; no changes to hardware or software, nor settings.

1. Can't log in.
2. No emails received when attempting "Forgot Password."

Okay, tried the "HTTPS//" fix. So far, all is good.

I still think it is a Cookie issue, probably cookies are not kept or expired. Try the followings (only for Firefox).

1. In “Preferences”, click on Privacy. Click on “manage your Do Not Track settings”. Disable it if on. If you install an addon for tracking cookies, disable it or put bladeforums.com in the white list.
2. Same on “Privacy”, make sure that “Firefox will Remember history”.
4. Same on “Privacy”, click on “Clear your recent history” (be aware that this will erase all the history). Alternatively (if you want to preserve history), click on “remove individual cookies”. Find and choose “bladeforums.com”, and then delete it.
5. Restart Firefox and come back here. You will have to log in. Make sure to check “keep me logged in”. Quit Firefox and restart it. See if you are still logged in.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, generally when you log into a website it starts a 'session' which keeps you logged in for a set period of time determined by the web devs who coded it, most websites have long-term sessions that last for a long time, leaving you logged in for months or more if you choose that as an option. It seems the https and http sites are separate and apart from each other and thus a session started on one wouldn't be valid on the other.

I just checked the 'categories' menu and the links there are just simple 'www.bladeforums...' links without the 'https' in front of them, while every other drop-down menu at the top of the page has the 'https' at the front of the links. Makes me think the 'categories' menu was missed in the transfer of all hard-coded links over to the new 'https' setup.
This is my exact experience too on firefox. I've switched all my Bladeforums bookmarked favorites to begin with https, but if I attempt to use any of the Catagories/Quick Links, they do not have https in front and I am logged out. If I add https to the front of the link I am logged back in.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel we shouldn't need to add an s that should be there in the first place, or check a box, or clear friggin cookies in order to participate in the so called "cutting edge of knife discussion".
Here's hoping you get this XenForo software figured out soon Spark Spark .

So I have this problem too. I didn't read the whole thread yet.

I currently have one page on my android in Chrome open. If I close this page or open new tabs and goto bladeforums it will not log in what so ever.

So I had to goto my history and open this specific tab back up in order to post. So if I loose this tab I'll be sol.

On the desktop I can login but won't stay logged in at all regardless of checking the box that says stay logged in. (Chrome on a pc)

We've been working on this and like some people have realized, it has to do with our enabling SSL recently. I believe we've tracked down the last bug today, but we're still doing testing.

Hot damn! My phone works now :)

No more logouts! Thanks Spark!

This issue is not resolved, and we're still working on it. Sorry guys.

This time it would not let me log in.

I typed https:/bladeforums.com in the address box, and it worked.

It just started for me today. Also, the sign in screen does not appear unless accessed from the registration page. I am not having the problem on my iPhone, only on my iMac with Safari.

Ok, login should be fixed now
