Paid Subscriptions FAQ

Why are there paid subscriptions?
Great question - servers, bandwidth and hosting aren't free. We don't like spamming members or begging for donations, so we instead choose a feature driven, value added service based model to support the site. Basic forums usage is absolutely free and does not cost you a dime. Access to certain premium content areas require a paid subscription. In particular, if you want to post in the Exchange, you'll need an appropriate paid subscription and to follow the rules laid out here

I don't need to pay you guys for [x], I can go to [y] and get that for free
