    Looking for a slicer recommendation.

Civivi Shredder, thin cuts very well, locks up great, flips well, good size, light and only about sixty. I cut a lot of green overgrowth along hiking trails and I've used a lot of different knives. You can tell a difference in how much trouble you have with the task, between different blades...

Sharp today, dull tomorrow - is it just me??

And two new species of bacteria were responsible, according to a study the researchers published last week in Nature . The bacteria, tentatively christened Candidatus Manganitrophus nodulliformans and Ramlicbacter lithotrophicus, can borrow electrons from metals like manganese and use them as...

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

He still had to add, he finds it peculiar anyone masculine carries a Bugout. 😒

A Bugout would be a huge upgrade from all the junk knives I see "men" around here pull out of their pockets.

Buck 124 (old school) vs Fallkniven A1 (modern). What do you prefer?

I only have the Buck. The grip on the Fallkniven will be more secure, if that is a factor. 124 is micarta and steel. Has finger grooves but I still believe it won't compare on grip. But, the Buck feels fairly secure to chop with. At least I don't lose my grip on it chopping, like I had happen...

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

I often carry a Bugout with a larger knife, just because it's a very handy knife that you don't even notice until you need it. If I were a man I'd be lessened. 😨

Handy well made knife, that's very light and has excellent lockup. Don't see how that equals not being manly. 🤔

Any love for the BM 810 Contego?

I have one and only carry it as an emergency knife. It's not uncomfortable for me to grip for a short time, but it sure would be in prolonged use. Mainly because of the hump your middle finger contacts as noted above. Heck of a knife for self-defense, as a user not so much.

Knife scam sites (knifesilo.com and others)

These knives on those sites are counterfeit. Just check AliExpress and you'll see them.

I would never be embarrassed to own any knife. Now carrying it that's another story.

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

I had a Canadian special and it was supposed to be 3V. It had very good fit and finish, but I sold it anyway.

I thought everything from BR was A2, no matter what it's marked. At least I've heard that.

"You may be a knife nut if..."

You spend your time on a knife forum, telling other knife enthusiasts why you might be a knife nut.

He's in the wrong place, if he wants to convince people of Strider's worth.

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

I got a really nice SMF, but I called and asked for the dealer to check it. The first dealer I called would not even check his stock. He said all of them are imperfect and if I wanted perfection buy a Sebenza. The other did pick me out a good one. The only brand I've ever done that with!

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

What I run into, I'll show one of my knives to a friend and they'll say, I have one just like it and pull out some five dollar gas station POS. I don't even try to explain the difference. They don't know and don't care to know.

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

I had the worse edge roll from a CRKT folder. Just trying to cut green overgrowth caused it to fold right over. No other knife I've used for that didn't hold the edge and roll like that

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

It wasn't recent, at least not mostly. http://www.bladeforums.com/threads/considering-the-strider-smf.349121/ This is exactly what I did...(only I didn't get stripes) "I think what most people do is they call a dealer, talk to someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to Strider's...

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

You mean in this thread, or just you never heard anyone anywhere at all have issues? I've read loads of everything possible negative about Strider's poor fit and finish and bad lockup. A lot of it was before they changed the lock geometry, but still I did buy one back in 2013 just to check it...
