    Heavy duty folder

I am pretty sure you can mention non-supporting dealers. Just no links to them.

I got a knife for my wife. Best trade ever! just kidding, she has an Esee 3, a Pacific salt, a Leatherman and a Swiss Army knife.

Does the name of this steel as marked on the blade affect your decision to buy?

So blade steel is irrelevant to you?

$50-100 general purpose folder. Your pick!

The Tenacious is an entry level Spyderco so it is in a unique space. I like the design but the blade steel is awful. They managed to make it brittle and soft. I used one as a work knife in my shop for a while. The tip broke off like it was glass and it had to be sharpened every day. I have...

You win a contest and you're able to choose your prize knife from the following. Which do you choose?

I was torn between the Respect and the Trailmaster. Nostalgia won out. 14 year old me really wanted a Trailmaster but could afford a SRK. Which I still have 30+ years later. So Trailmaster it is.

Interesting verbal exchange with a police officer regarding a knife

At what point did I say my friend was a juvenile? I am very aware of the details of the incident. We were pretty good kids. One of us going to jail was a big deal.

I voted LC200n simply because I never remember the other names.

Interesting verbal exchange with a police officer regarding a knife

When I was in high school a friend was walking over to my house to go camping. He never made it. A cop in our over-policed town saw the kabar on his belt and arrested him. He spent most of the weekend in jail. When he went before the judge, the judge told the cop that it was legal to carry...

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

I agree, it is harder to get food and crud out of a folder and I don’t like mixing my food and my crud but I throw my folders In the dishwasher, open and they generally come out spotless inside and out. I haven’t been brave enough to do it with any of my knives in M4, 3V, 1095, etc.

That time when I used 1 knife for almost 10 days

My CRK is my most expensive knife so I can’t yet bring myself to use it as a woods knife. I wish I could. Maybe once the new wears off it.

Benchmade drops military and first responders discount program from 30% to 15%?

If we are thinking of the same screwup, it was them doing something to help the police that pissed everybody off. Just questionable optics, the guns were doomed anyway.

That time when I used 1 knife for almost 10 days

This is a nice reminder that we don’t need all the fancy gear. I have traveled for weeks with just a SAK and aside from it being dull when I got home, it worked great.

Good. Based on what I have seen from law enforcement lately they shouldn’t be allowed to handle pointy things.

Photos Share your father to son knife events*

My 6 year old son got a Victorinox for Christmas last year. Yesterday we were opening a box and he asked if he could use his knife. Of course I said yes. He was doing it wrong and before I could correct him, he poked a small hole in his hand. He is a fairly tough little kid (runs around on...

    Best knife handle

I thought the handle on my FK1 was odd looking but once it was in my hand and working, I came to quickly appreciate the design.

Thinking of starting a Knife company

No way I am spending anywhere near that amount on a knife made anywhere but the US, Japan or Europe. There are so few buyers of knives over $200 anyways. If you are already rich and want to make knives then this will work. I don’t see it paying your bills.

Knife you're embarrased to own or admit purchasing?

Looks like good stuff. I carry a lot of similar stuff. I think you are underestimating the Bugout because it is so light and the scales are a bit squishy. It is especially great to carry in light hiking pants or paired with a large fixed blade. The weight to blade ratio is hard to beat...
