What is the thing you value most in a knife?

NOT Made in China... hehe. But seriously, ease/comfort of carry is #1 for me. Of course, it's gotta be a good knife, but no matter how good it is, if it ain't easy and comfortable to carry, I won't carry it.

Off Topic Worst knife related injury. How much did it hurt? How bad was it?

I used to carry an old Gerber EZ-Out (circa early 1990's, before I discovered Spyderco and Benchmade). After using it to prep my dinner on the third night of a week-long backpacking trip, I was trying to wipe my blade clean while at the same time having a conversation with another hiker. I cut...

    First High-End Knife

I say wait until you know what you like and, more importantly, what you DON'T like. It's easy to know what you like, but once you figure out what you really don't like, it'll be easier to narrow your list down. What don’t you use your knife for?

Prying. I learned my lesson young when I broke the tip off my fav folder (at the time - it was a Buck 110 knockoff). We were kids (12 years old or so) and we locked ourselves out of a friend's house, and I thought my knife could handle anything - even prying a freshly-painted window open... NOT!

Saber-ground Endura 4 and G3 -- the large folder and small fixed blade combo works well for me:

Been carrying too much knife. This is all you need ! Talk about minimalism ! Talk about POWER !

I carry a similar small traditional pair sometimes myself, too (with 4 blades total), and they can handle most anything I encounter in regular daily life:

    Folding knife advice

Your brain and awareness are your best protection - use those first. But, having said that, when I'm in an office situation, I carry an Endura 4 FFG clipped inside my front, right (strong-side) pocket. It's very thin and light (3.3 ounces on my scale), and I've got one with the stainless steel...

My GF carries a RAT-II with the pink handles - and she loves it (pic borrowed from the interwebs).
