    Knives similar to Kershaw Scallion

Did Ken Onion design the Kershaw Clash? It'd be the perfect knife if the gfn handles didn't look so cheap, the pocket clip was more basic looking, and if the blade was a better steel with dlc instead of black oxide. Which basically would make it a 0350 haha

    Knives similar to Kershaw Scallion

Too bad it's tip down only. Not quite as pretty blade shape as a 0200. Maybe I should just man up and carry my 0200 more. Have it in the pocket today. For 1/2 pound and the size it is it does carry pretty well but you never forget it's on you haha

    Knives similar to Kershaw Scallion

Thanks for all the suggestions! Quite a few designs I haven't heard of. I have a zt 0200 that I love the way it looks, feels, and functions but it doesn't get as much pocket time as it should because it is quite heavy and on the larger size. Kinda wish I picked up a shallot a couple years ago...

    Knives similar to Kershaw Scallion

The blur is quite a bit similar. Did Ken onion collab any knives with other makers that even more resemble a larger scallion?

    Knives similar to Kershaw Scallion

Just wondering if there are any folding knives with a similar blade shape to the Kershaw scallion that are three or more inches and length with preferably a tip up carry position. I own the knife in the past and I really liked it except for it was just too small and the fact I couldn't carry it...

    Benchmade Axis Lock closing question

Weird. My griptilian had the gfn handles but the knife would be able to over travel and hit them. The way I found out was because the blade actually became dull when I had hardly cut anything, and it made a distinct metal on plastic sound. I can actually see cuts into the metal bar that...

    Benchmade Axis Lock closing question

Can any of your Benchmades make contact with the backspacer though if you hold back the axis lock and close the blade past the point where the bar would normally stop it?

    Benchmade Axis Lock closing question

I know this thread is old but just thought I'd add that some axis knives could have a metal backspacer and if you don't have the timing down right and let go of the axis lock bar before it bounces into it you could get a chip in your blade. I speak from experience and because of this I think I...

Spyderco 2021 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

I really wanted a black DLC tanto blade Paramilitary 2 with black G10 grips, but they were gone in minutes from bladehq the other day before I could even add one to my cart. Emailed bladehq about it and they said they only got a few of them. Then I look on ebay and people are apparently buying...

How are Kershaw Thermite thumb studs removed?

I finally got around to removing them. Heating the locktite up with a blow drier worked and I was able to unscrew them with 2 sets of channel locks. It feels much slimmer and more comfortable in the pocket now that the thumbstuds can no longer be pushed into my thigh, plus the knife slides out...

How are Kershaw Thermite thumb studs removed?

Thanks for the info! I used to have a Cryo and I could easily screw them apart, and on a Kershaw Brawler they actually came apart on their own. I just tried to remove them on my Thermite and boy are they on there tight even using 2 pairs of channel locks. I hear heating the knife will loosen up...

How are Kershaw Thermite thumb studs removed?

They look like they may be press fit, but i've had 2 kershaws already that screwed in so i just want to be sure before i start pounding on it. Is there anyone that has already removed theirs?

How are Kershaw Thermite thumb studs removed?

Are they screwed in to each other or is it a bar that is pressed in and needs to be tapped out? Thanks

    How to modify G10?

Thanks! I'll give it a try and be sure to wear a mask or something so I don't breathe in the G10 dust

    How to modify G10?

I am looking at buying a Kershaw Thermite, but I'm not too fond of the design etched into the G10. I am not familiar with working with G10, so I am wondering if it would it be possible to sand down the G10 flat until the design was gone, or would it be too slick to have any grip? How can I...

    Beware: Extremely random question follows...

Cool design. The Damascus layers hide the weld well. I knew someone would ask why would someone want to... well some people like to test their craftsmanship abilities so I wanted to see if anyone here has succeeded in such a feat before I try it myself. But that's a good point that the heat...

    Beware: Extremely random question follows...

Has anyone with welding skills ever taken the blade from a folding knife and welded their own steel handle to it to transform it into a fixed blade? If so, do you have any pics?

Has anyone ever tried this with a liner lock?

A lot of good points made here. I also thought about using a piece of wood if you had to do something strenuous to your knife out in the forest and wanted a little extra insurance, since it wouldn't be hard to cut your own shim out of some timber. I agree a lock will never fail if used properly...

Has anyone ever tried this with a liner lock?

Sorry about that! A dime is a ten cent coin used in the United States, as shown in the photo links.

Has anyone ever tried this with a liner lock?

The other day I realized the if the space between the G10 and steel lockbar of my 0200 had, say, a coin slid into it when open, then the knife would essentially be impossible to close on the hand. A dime still allows my index finger to fit in the finger slot too, and the dime is held in just by...
