GEC #89 Fruit Knife...well, that was a surprise!

Probably smart to kick it around a bit. Stainless, slim, first time offered in single blade... Niche like you said. I wish the blade was a tiny bit thicker. I know it's a fruit knife, I just don't want to bend it on an apple seed 😳

2021 GEC 83 Tascosa Lock Back

I'm with you. The size of the 83 isn't great for showing off how nice Bocote can be. Bummed the micarta got booted. Too bad they didn't switch to a wood that doesn't depend heavily on its figure to look nice.

GEC #89 Fruit Knife...well, that was a surprise!

You're good, chances are fair the orange and apple will have a seam. The glow in the dark somehow doesn't suit the use of this type of knife in my opinion. You picked a good one

I feel like, but could be wrong, GEC reserves using all 3 bolster features together for special knives. Washington Jack comes to mind.

Somebody put a lot of effort in the design of the mock up. It's fluted with rattail and pinched. I hope we get lucky enough to get it the way it looks currently.

Speaking of oddities & canned meat, be careful because someone might start posting pictures of an entire chicken in a can @waynorth :)

2021 GEC 83 Tascosa Lock Back

Yes, it's one of GEC's favorite bone color. They call it red

I've got one too, the version with a seam. I decided to embrace the Picasso spirit and enjoy it that way, but nobody wants every painting to be a Picasso

I agree, major bummer GEC is using acrylic with (I think) bonded seams - again. Hope it's not an ongoing trend. Takes the fun out of acrylics appeal for me.

It's a propeller shield. I think it looks good too . I think I would of liked the traditional shield.they use on stainless... the acorn, but the narrow propeller fits nicely.

2021 BF Forum knife vs. Facebook & Flippers

Black sharpy number the tube at least. Serialized bolster would be ideal, but GEC has got away from that.

It's kinda like the 15's to me. On one side you have a scratted bone ancient TC, and on the other you can still buy the bail and chain 15's. The 38 has the highly sought after Grinling Whittler (one of the top 10 GEC's imo - like the 15 scratted), and then the 38 single blade muskrat clip. The...

Thank you, good idea. Let's not go down the rabbit hole of mucking this up with requests to change things. Let's not push our luck.. can we just go with it as is. I mean c'mon, sawcut bone barlow with rattail fluted pinched bolster.. Someone put some thought into making this amazing already.

I hope the next production update is some french kate's with a comb, a huge run of calf pens with the sausage fork, more flash lights & rugs, maybe some fly swatters or sweat bands.

I'd say there is a 96.8246 percent chance it will be a pattern they have run before.
