Curious for two reasons, to see what knives out sold other knives and to see actual numbers to see just how niche of a market we are in.

Only care about $100+ knives here, we all know the shit at walmart and a 6.95$ schrade whatever is probably the best selling knife lol.

Anyone have this data?

I think this type of info is usually not released, there might be exceptions though. We can always speculate. Vic SAKs are #1 by far, then the Opinels, Spyderco PM2, Native, Delica, BM Bugouts and all the rest of it.

If I extrapolate based on my personal buying habits of 2023 it’s as follows:
CRK in first place, out-selling the number 2 brand, Microtech on a 4-1 ratio.

But seriously I don’t believe any knife dealers/maker releases those numbers.

Blade HQ used to have annual videos of what they sold the most of-by brand and which knives were the most popular-by model.

Benchmade, Spyderco etc were well represented in both categories. That was pre-Covid and early stages Covid. IOW, before prices went up.

I think if you dig long enough you'll find their video rating knives by cost categories.

So, OP; your question can and could be answered many different ways.

Knifecenter videos were similar, but done far better. (Less obvious bias).

Opinion, price and value start to become more mutually exclusive of one another One is lucky to have a knife with all three variables.

Lol I just came here to say Hinderer sold the most knives in 2023…

…..to me*

Seriously tho, you could get a good idea by going to a retailer and searching for $100+ knives, and arrange by popularity.
Doing a quick search at one of the big dealers comes up with
Banter
BM 940
PM2
Sage 5
Bugout
Para 3

Most popular BY FAR are Benchmade and Spyderco according to the site I searched

Lots of great knives are available for under $100 , and are probably much more popular for that reason .

This is a great question. I would love to know as well. I'd be pretty confident that the lower dollar knives at the big box stores easily outsell the nice stuff. But I do wonder which blades sell the most at the big outdoor sports stores (Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, LL Bean, etc)?? Those places offer a nice variety of cheap to expensive blades and cater to enthusiasts.

Wonder if the Manufacturers publish this info anywhere? Could probably find Amazon sales numbers easily enough...

Hope someone here knows of a source for this info....

So I did an Amazon search for the CURRENT top selling pocket knives (US Amazon) and here's the top 10. Its likely that the better knives are not purchased using Amazon but right from the manufacturer or from the bigger knife shops (SMKW, etc).
