I'm starting this thread in part because of some comments about anniversary models in this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=771073 and I've been interested in these issues for sometime.

There were many different models before, during and after the 2002 model year that had some identifying stamp, etch, medallion or connection with the 100 year anniversary.

In the referenced thread above it began about the steel in 119s it moved to the 100 year 119 model.

I posted comments and a pic about different 110s and their having the anvil(2002) tang stamp with the medallion or without and having a medallionwith a different year stamp, etc. David Martin commented about blade etches on 110/112s, the 501 and others.

So this thread is for discussion, information and pictures of any and all of the 110 Year Anniversary Models...I'll start with...

not being able to get to my pics...will try later. Preston

OK, here are two 119s both with the blade etched logo...one with regular micatra spacers, one with yellow micarta spacers. Both have the 202 anvil tang stamp, sheath that has the 100 Year embossing and came in a box with the hat pin. Both boxes had the sticker noting 100 Year Anniversary

Something strange is happening with me and ImageShack...:rolleyes::confused:

Here are two 525s and a 444 that have 100 Year logos. the 444's on the blade while the 525s have the logo on the handle and are different logos(the handles are different also). Preston

Hi Preston,

Here is a photo of the Palm wood 100 YR cutout 119.

I also have a few 110's (gold etch, & blade cut outs) and at least one 112 with the 100 year medallion's. I took a look and these all have the anvil stamp.

Preston, Great ! I didn't know about the 444 with the 100 yr. stamping on the blade or the cut outs in 'Gold' . Man, those are nice . Now, what makes it a '100 yr. Anniversary' model ? Is it the medallion, the writing on the blade or the Anvil ? The sheath and box should substantiate the other not the other way around . DM

ITE....That 532 sets my 'green with envy' switch to full auto...what a nice knife...if I ever see one it will be on it's way without question..

David, the answer to your question is...I'm not sure.

I think(for now) it would have to have the 2002 anvil tang stamp and/or the medallion and/or the logo(s). Box or sheath would not do it for me.

Maybe this thread will generate an answer. Preston

JB45-70, nice 119, post those others we need to see as many as we can.

Here is a 110 that was one of the 110 Year Anniversary models offered...it has the medallion, but has the custom shop tang stamp. Preston

Great 100yr. models JB, PJ and ITE . I'm trying to make up my mind on what qualifies as a '100 yr. Anniversary' model . To me it should atleast have the medallion or the writing on the blade stating 100yr. Anniversary of some sort plus the box or sheath with a similiar statement . I would not consider just a model used as a 100 yr. Anniversary that was stamped with the Anvil in a generic box and sheath to qualify as a 100 yr. Anniversary model . Plus, as Preston mentioned the existence of those models prior to the Anvil stamp and after . The 'odd ones' that are unique for this catagory . DM

I couldn't help but notice in Haebbie's photo how the grind lines changed in the knives from 1980 to 2002 . On the Stag handled 505 w/ old English script stamp has much more belly and a smaller nail nic than the others . Slight but present, much more to my taste . I have one in my collection like it and my wife comments about it each time I bring out the display . Thanks Haebbie for that photo . DM

Good question David. I have 2002 models with just the anvil stamp and nothing else. Should that be considered an anniversary model? I don't think so myself but what's the general concensus?

As a parallel, I have a 2003 100th anniversary Harley that has all the extra 100th year graphics and logos but they made the same model that year without them. Mine is considered the "100th Anniversary Model", the other is not. I also have a 2008 (105th anniversary year) that isn't the special "105th Anniversary Model", so it isn't considered one, it's just a 2008 Harley.

Ok Preston,

Here are some quick photo's of the few 100 year knives that are in my display case (note each of the 100YR 110/112's have a medallion inset in the handle).

Interesting that Habbie's and ITE's little ones have the 2002 year bracketed. One's a 2001 blade and the other a 2003.

Now this one is different. Without the COA to go with it, there's no way to tell that it's a 100th Anniversary Commemorative. Nothing on the blade, no medallion and the tang stamp is the same as any limited edition.
