Has anyone used the quick draw sheaths for a 110 or similar size knife? I have seen them use a nylon wheel or a rubber piece for the opening mechanism. Seems this would dull the blade faster. The makers of the nylon type mechanism claim it doesn't affect the blade. Any opinions?
Also a very happy new year to all !!!

Happy NEw Year to you as well. I see those sheaths around. (the leather type). A neighbor of mine has one which I've examined and like you wondered if the resting/ opening rivet would dull the blade when drawing it. It may but this could be minimal. He really likes it and says it's saved him a time or so while working
young horses with ropes. As they can get tangled up and a rope needs to be cut quick. DM

I sometimes carry an alaskan guide 110 out lobstering and it's always in the quick draw sheath when on the boat, and yes it's saved my ass as well as another crew member from taking a unwanted swim in the Atlantic Ocean in February.

I bought one off the bay and was wondering the same thing. When you see it in action the blade is in the sheath in an open position so it requires very little to finish to the straight position.

I really haven't noticed the nylon bushing making the knife dull any faster than normal,it will cut the bushing a little bit but not bad enough to damage the edge any as far as I can tell.
