I carry my Buck 110 my son got me every day unless I am flying. Who else carry's their knife in a sheath? The size and weight dissappear and doesn't interfere with anything going in or out of my pocket like a standard folder does. I might be in the minority but I prefer it. I also put a thumbstud on the blade to make it a one handed opening knife. Not pretty but works like a charm.

I EDC my 110 in the nylon Buck sheath, yes the leather sheath is more traditional, has more character, but it doesn't carry horizontally without modification

The nylon sheath in horizontal mode is a perfectly cromulent option, the "weight" of the 110 is a non issue in horizontal carry

I'm going to eventually modify a couple 110 and 112 sheaths to horizontal mode

Maybe Buck could sell a horizontal carry leather sheath for the 110 and 112, I'd buy a couple...

When (every week) I carry a 110, 112 or 500 it's going to be in the traditional leather sheath. I like the low riding, scalloped top sheath. The quick mount type thumb studs are ugly and gaudy. I installed thumb studs on some of these models and I utilize a single side mounted thumb stud. They all interfere with cutting to most degrees. Some more than others. So, I normally do without them. Another item I have disdane for is pocket clips. If one has it then the knife no longer feels right in my hand when using it. DM

I carried a Buck 110 on their leather belt sheath at least four decades, but probably will use one very infrequently from now on.
I wore out quite a few of those sheaths.

I have recently added a pocket clip to a Buck 110 for tip up carry and find I like that so much better.

Buck changed the belt loop on the 110 sheath to a flat sewn piece of leather late in 2014.
That design is my least favorite and seems to me would be the least durable.
The low riding 1970 belt sheaths were the best as far as I'm concerned...but I don't even think about sheaths anymore.
I never see myself going back to a belt carry sheath. The convenience and ease of the pocket clip are just right for me.

I like carrying in a sheath as well. I alternate between a 110, 112 and a Case trapper on my belt everyday. I feel like I'm missing something if I don't have a sheath on me. I think it's the most solid, easily accessible way to carry my knives.

I've really grown to like the convenience of an open pouch with no flap or snap to deal with. This one was made by Charlie Cline. I wet formed it to my knife and it fits perfectly.

Nice setup and an extra nice 2 dot!

I've tried and tried to adapt to holster carry. For knives, cell phones, multitools... Just can't do it.

I wish Buck made a thinner, lighter version of the 110. I thinner, prettier Ecolite would be ideal. Till then, I reach for alternatives that don't quite do it for me. A Buck Slimline has been in my pocket quite a bit lately. An OK work knife but not a 110.

Today it is this Case. Notice the brass liners. Beautiful. A thinner Ecolite with full brass liners and no finger grooves to muck up the lines would be excellent. Thinner too. The Sodbuster is 13mm wide comparted to the 15+mm of the 110. Small change makes a big difference.

I carried my 50th all weekend in the nylon sheath it came with and it carries a lot better then I remember old one a few years ago!

I love the leather sheath but use the nylon sheath. Its so much flatter you dont even notice its there.

Its Weird. Some of the Sheaths that I get at the factory have the belt loop and some have the flat leather attached to the back. I never paid any attn to what knife came with which one. I will check the bins at the Buck gift shop where they have them for sale.

I also like the look of the leather sheath but find the nylon sheath more practical.

Hey guys, have a look premium leather sheath for Buck 110. It's perfect for custom knives carry.

for sure it more expensive then standard buck110, but looks very good and even carry horizontally it'll never get out.

I love the open top sheaths. Honestly, it's one of the reasons my trapper gets carried as often as it does. I should get one for my Bucks eventually. I would want a horizontal and a vertical carry. Only problem is I'd end up kicking myself for getting sheaths instead of another knife. Those custom open tops can get pricey...
