Yet another great addition to the 100 series. What additional blade and handle materials would you guys like to see in the 117?

I could go for one in S30V with standard black phenolic and aluminum, in an old-style full flap sheath. I wouldn't be able to resist!

Two requests.
1) I think in terms of sets.... all the 100's in red micarta and S30V, like the 119.
2) In the early 60's Buck did a run of 100's in white melamine. Too brittle and VERY VERY rare. I would love to have a set of 100's in white phenolic. For added juice, gray titanium blades against the white handles. 420HC and aluminum furniture.

You can make the blade out of cardboard if you want as long as the handle is burgundy micarta!

Seriously, I'd love to see and would definitely purchase an entire 100 series in burgundy micarta with aluminum hardware, add in an ATS-34 blade and I'd probably buy two sets.

ohh.... or maybe ivory paper micarta...

Not saying that wouldn't be nice, but would be labor intensive making it less likely to happen.
The plus for the white phenolic is that they could uses the same molds used for the black phenolic and everything else would be a standard knife to produce. (a couple extra spacers would be sweet) I'm hoping keeping it lower cost will make it more likely to happen.

Good point. I hadn't thought of labor. If the ivory micarta would cost a premium, it should also come with a premium steel. S35vn perhaps? As long as I'm dreaming about an "upgrade" model over a more basic white phenolic, I might as well go all out right?

I'd like to see this in Micarta. Burgundy, ivory, black... it doesn't matter what color. I love a Micarta handle! It's always warm to the touch and always grippy.
As far as steel goes, I think S30V will be a great high-performance steel that doesn't drive the cost up since I expect they have that handy.
If they can make the handles out of laminated wood, they shouldn't have any issues making it out of wood, right?

154cm steel polished, g10 or micarta fg handle/spacers, flush bolster with handle, rounded removable butt , jimping, nickle silver hardware.

I like the looks of it. I'd love to see it next to some others for size comparison. Right now you folks have me on a 5160 kick.

1/2" longer than a 102 with no bend (never had a 102 but they all look bent in photos)
I only have a 117 brahma and only have this comparison photo.

Thanks. Funny you mentioned the bend in the 102. I just started a thread asking about it and then seen this.
