119 butt engraving?

Thanks to my darling wife I am now the proud owner of a Buck 119 as an anniversary present.
I would like to have my initials engraved on the top of the butt. I understand from various websites that this material is "Duralum", which I take to mean an aluminum alloy. Is this material thick or heavy enough that I can safely have a local engraver do this work, or is there a danger of harming the knife?

Thanks for any help

Will

I have drilled lanyard holes in the butts of my 119 and my 105 (back to front on the bottom of the butt) with no problems, so I assume engraving won´t give any trouble.

Wellcome to the forums.

Thank you for the reply, Don Luis. Since posting last night I have also learned more about Duralumin and that it is a solid alloy, therefore I don't have to worry about corrosion, etc. if I etch or engrave the finish on the butt.
Thanks again.
