Hello... I am thinking about purchasing a 417 fillet knife. Prices are very low, just curious on other people’s experience with one? Also what does “Skin Packed” refer to? Is this the sheath because all of the online adds I have looked at to see the knife do not show a sheath...thanks

Never tried one of these but the blade profile looks good and at that price if it doesn't work for you it's no big loss. Dexter also makes a knife that looks much like this, though the blade isn't stainless. It's actually a very good knife at $10 + shipping from Wal-Mart. They call it a boning knife (model 22345} but it works well for filleting. Gets razor sharp, does need maintenance as it will rust. I put a few coats of tung oil on the wood to seal it. Nice knife for money. Skin packed means it's placed on a piece of cardboard and vacuum sealed with plastic coating.
