Hey folks,

We have a few left of the 187 Tanto that we just built for some local SWAT teams. They are available through tadgear.com.

The knife was designed and built as part of our line a few years ago in collaboration with Kit Carson. We built the tanto version for one of our Local SEAL Teams. It became part of our regular lineup.

Thanks,

Josh

So you're working for TADGEAR.COM on the side now???

Great looking knife BTW.......................see ya soon???

:p

They probably have not yet updated their site to reflect this knife.

This is what it should look like though:

Which size intrepid do the SEALs use? I did not know it was an issue item.

Its not a normal issued item as far as I know. We built this version initially as a modification to one of our current production lines for one of the local teams here. It was for a specific purpose at the time I believe. It was before I was working here.

SEALs pretty much carry what they want. They know what will work for their mission and change their loadouts to match.

There are hundreds of knives used by the teams I would guess.

Its a great piece of gear. Designed by Kit Carson a few years back.

Lately we have building them for SWAT teams down here for use as an entry tool.

They tested it on a few cars and structures and in their opinions beat out the other knives they tested.

I like it for use when camping and diving, the spine has a chopping edge for tearing through just about anything, and the reverse serrations cut through webbing like butter.

OLD THREAD ALERT...

I was gonna call this "Christmas Was Early"...but there's already a "Christmas" thread that was started. Day late, peso short.

Anyway, I think there's at least two Santa's...
One in Post Falls and one in Peru.

171 Waimea (gotta have a "SPAM" backdrop for any knife that has the Hawaiian island of O'ahu in it...meant just for me ;)

187 Intrepid

And, of course, speaking of Hawai'i...2007 110 Damascus with Hawaiian Koa scales pictured for scale...

Nice pics Goose!
So is the intrepid to be a user?
Looking forward to more updates!

Hey isn't the first post Spam? :D (LOL)

How are these different from the 187's Buck was selling at their factory outlet sale on Dec 1st? They were all NIB and were selling for $80. Buck also had these at their 2006 Factory Clearance sale in Post Falls for $60. I bought one at each sale.

Buck was selling at their factory outlet sale on Dec 1st?

OMG

Now I feel like the redheaded step child! Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well I dont need any more knives :D

Anyway what makes you ask why they are different? A 187 should be a 187?

I was just wondering because if TAD has them they are sure to be quite a bit more than the $80 Buck was selling them for.
