So I just stopped spending money on knives years ago. Wasn't much of a 'collector' anyway. Logged into an old YT account the other night and clicked on a video with the Stitch as the thumbnail. Two days of searching and impulse later, I snagged the two-tone Stitch in fluted black G10. It was the only one in stock I could find with a plain edge. I might prefer the aluminum handled version but then again I've only ever had G10 or micarta so who knows. I think the most expensive knife in my collection to this point is a Spyderco Manix 2 XL, which I got for like $190. Idk if I was too hasty and gave in to some FOMO or what. This is also the first knife I've purchased without research. Wonder if it will send me down that rabbit hole again...

You'll like it. The Stitch is a fun blade, and personally, I prefer the non-auto versions.

Can't help you much with the retroactive choice-paralysis, but I can say I have one with smooth G10 scales, and it is a little slick - the fluting is a good addition.

I have a manual Stitch in G10, and I really like it. It's not the kind of folder I typically carry every day - it's big, thick and heavy. That said, I can't help but love the thing and grab it more often than not. It feels amazing in-hand in either a full grip on the handle or gripping the deep lower blade choil, and despite the rather chonky blade stock, it slices really well. It's worked its way into my favorites rotation despite being very different from what I normally prefer.

You may find yourself getting a manual MSI after this as well. ;)

I already expect it to be cumbersome and annoying to carry, but you could say I prefer 'bigger' knives anyway (Recon 1, Manix 2XL). Also, I'm gonna force myself to carry it after spending this much on it. With that being said, my main rotation for the past year or so consists of an Air Lite and an Elementum 😅. I looked at the MSI as well and I just don't see myself getting anything with a sheepsfoot profile (convinced myself that I need a stabby tip at all times just in case). More importantly, I saw a few things online about the ram lok on those failing spine whacks. I know the Stitch has the same lock but one little video saying something about a slight difference in the ram lok on older MSIs vs newer Stitch's was enough to convince me not to abandon my little impulse buy dream 🤷‍♂️.
Welcome back to the madhouse. The only way to ease your mind is to pick up a couple more handle variants, to make sure you're not missing out 😂
Oh, the variants... I've already been up at night thinking about 1) G10 vs aluminum when just about every knife I already have is G10 and 2) blade finishes: stonewash looks great, apocalyptic would be something new, two tone was really appealing at first glance, but is it tacky/risky for something at this price point?

Yeah, you made a mistake buying this. So I'll help you out and take it off your hand. 😘

Typical BF’s members that are willing to help out your pocket book and significant other🙁😉
If you haven’t noticed there’s a lot of help here, just ask!

There are all kinds of variations of the Stitch.

The one you bought seems to be sold out. So, if you bought it for a "fair price" & like it, you did well.

If you didn't/don't, then you didn't do that well but should be able to easily resell it here as long as it's reasonably priced.

I am absolutely positive that I clicked the 1-day shipping option on checkout but somehow I got USPS ground... The buyers remorse is just stewing while I wait and continue to look at pics of other Stitch variations online. I also wanted to ask: for those of you who are experienced with Microtechs, what is the coating they use for their two-tone blades? From looking at pics online, the black on the two-tones look pretty different from the black on their all black DLC blades.

Personally I think you made a good choice. I like the ram lock. Very fidget friendly just keep the fingers you want to keep our of the way 😁. I bought a basic MSI because I prefer that shape for work but the plastic handles flex a lot under moderate to heavy pressure. I think fluted aluminum is a great way to go.

By plastic handles, do you mean the injection molded plastic handles or G10 plastic handles. Because I wanted the aluminum but could only find the G10 in stock 😭.

Getting hype enough about something to post a thread about it and ordering it before a holiday weekend was a bad idea maybe. This is literally the longest weekend ever AND it's supposed to snow the next two days 😭 (estimated arrival was Tuesday).

Merry Stitch-in-hand eve!

Looking forward to pics of the real deal, and getting your thoughts. That two tone blade is interesting. Would like to know how their coated blades hold up to use.

I feel you though. My rational brain is in control 98% of the time. But when my huevos take charge, and its time to do what I gotta do to scratch that itch. Come hell or high water, smart be damned straight to hell! lol
