2 finger "knuckle duster" karambit from "taboo" - anyone seen a knife like this?

I found an article not too long ago from the knifemaker that created the prop knives for the new tom hardy show "taboo", and thought it was really interesting. I know this wouldn't function as a typical Karambit because of the 2 holes, but I think the concept is to function as more of an abbreviated "brass knuckles". Has anyone seen a design like this, or know of a retailer that makes something in this format? I've seen the types with the holes on opposite ends of the handle (pinky & index) but nothing like this.

Just binge watched the show & the first thing I did was look up this knife. But no, I've never seen a design like this but then again I'm not too familiar w/ Karambits & or their history.

Interesting I never realized he carried two. Thanks for the links & pics.

Can't think of any with that hole pattern. As mentioned, index with pinkie is findable. And there are a few full knuckle duster versions I've seen before. Neat knife. With so much of the karambit's mainstream popularity based on the spin, it will be tough to find many without the standard "just pinkie" design.

Bummer. I was hoping to add something like it to my collection. Maybe if I can ever afford it I will have one custom made. It would be kinda cool even with a straight blade.

Another bonus is that it would be damn near impossible for someone to try and wrestle that thing from your hand with the 2nd finger hole

As if it would ever be used in that fashion.

Looks like a good way to break your two fingers. Doubt it would be really useful in a combat situation. Might work in the garden though, like a pruning blade.

Those are pretty interesting. I might have to make one similar. There are a few things I would change though. One being that it would have a double edged blade. If it’s going to be a defensive tool, I’m preferential to having two edges. Especially with karambit style knives. When carried in the tip down method, the top(where the spine would be if it weren’t sharpened) edge could be used via a quick jab slash method. For instance striking at the hands of someone else who had a knife or weapon. “Defanging the snake” so to speak(in kali terms). The only thing I would worry about would be whether it would be considered a knuckle duster or knuckle knife by law and therefore be classified as a deadly weapon, making it illegal to carry.

interested in something like this?

Op and another poster(tltt) mentioned having seen pinky and index finger karambits, but I don't think he was interested in that type and hasn't posted since May 2019. You also have to have a membership to buy and sell.

But to add to this thread for posterity(4 years later) it does look there are similar double finger karambits being sold currently. At least one knife maker from Pakistan sells them online, but they have wooden scales and are not as antique or ornate looking as the prop for the show.
