I should have mine done by the end of the week. Just have to put a handle on and finish the saya.
You do know we offer that service. Here are a few pictures of what it looks like. Held together with small tabs so we can stuff 65lbs in a large flat rate box. Now back to our regular scheduled programmingSame here. I’m going to get a box of Damascus sized pieces to save time prepping.
Looks great Gene!
wish I had access to tools to make a saya so I could join in....soon.....
You doing have a hand saw and a chisel?
If you've got them and a file, that's all you really need...
Hmmm that might make all the difference. We'll see what the lady will let me get away with...I’m going to extend the deadline through the end of the weekend to October 20, 2019. I must have looked at the calendar wrong, as I typically do a Sunday midnight deadline.
Mine is ready to go!!
Handle is African Blackwood, Brass and Eucalyptus Burl. Saya is Ipe (Brazilian Walnut) with a tapered Basswood core & Lignum Vitae pin, finished in matte lacquer. I'm really looking forward to feedback on this one! This is only my 25th completed knife, so I know there's still a lot to learn.
Thank you, Paul - the images show up on my PC and phone just fine.Hey Sam, your pics aren't showing up, at least not for me. I'm not in the KITH, but it's still fun to see what everybody makes.
