Hi,
What is your opinion of the Nimba 260lb Centurion anvil?:thumbdn:
Or what new anvil out there is any good???
Thanks!!!

No, Nick Wheeler does not have a Nimba Centurian....he used to have one....now it is MINE! And I love it!
Nick liked it so much that he jumped up and bought the 450 lb Gladiator and I talked him out of his Centurian.....right place, right time.

Great anvils.

From what I hear you'll like any Nimba anvil....if you can afford it.

Nimba makes very good anvils. One of the better new anvils out there. One of the advantages to the nimba anvils over a more traditional ferriers pattern anvil is that, for their weight, they have a much wider face because of their squat construction. Their double horned construction is nice too for a lot of work.

that's their page if you want to check them out.

Thanks Guys,
Expensive it sure is:eek:
Total cost including shipping to CT is $1800. and from what I heard about it I will be ordering one in a few weeks. The forge has to be bought first:cool:

The Centurion is more than enough for bladesmithing. It's a GREAT anvil that I have no doubt you will love.

I have ZERO regrets on getting the Gladiator though. It's AWESOME... and to this day I smile every time I walk past it.

There are a lot of really great old anvils out there if you can find one.

To me, getting a brand new anvil with a super clean face and all the benefits that the Nimba brand carries... was well worth the price :)

If the price is a killer, check out http://www.euroanvils.net/. You can get a 286lb Euroanvil for $840 and John gets great deals on freight. I have the 335lb one and I love it.
