Well hell !! Now you guys are making me want one even more.
At least I the 303 is still available for now and I may end up getting one.

Couple more photos.
The first stag scale 301, Camillus or old Buck Custom Shop, no model number or date code. 309 and 305 are Buck scaled in the 80's.

The last Camillus version 305, model number on tang, no rivets.

Modern era 309's.

Oddball. Correct shield for date on tang but where did the jigging come from? I have never seen any other Buck scaled with this type of jigging. But bolster pin looks like it has been fiddled with ? Oddball.

Pro Rodeo Cowboy Assoc. special orders. Pretty rare versions, there are more than this.
standard.jpg

Simulated African antelope horn, made from cow horn. 309 at top and bottom.

Fairly modern run of smooth Delrin, factory test. But never produced.

Set for Boone and Crockett Club. Came in a tin.

My two Buck 309 pocketknives, a Whittler and a Companion. The Whittler was a Christmas gift about five years ago from two brothers that I have taken hunting for over a decade - good boys (young men now). The Companion is one that I picked up along with a Buck 303 and some Case knives when I first began collecting - it is circa 1980/81. OH

Buck 302 Solitaire I owned for several years, sold it or traded it here on Blade Forums some time back. As I recall this one was pretty snappy, much more so than the same size modern 301. OH

Great photos OH, A few more then will let anyone else add to the pile 300

These were the yellow versions. Yellow sawcut was a SMKWs idea and you could get several variations. The smooth yellow valox scales with Blue Buck shield was a Buck issue in recent past, you could get the 'Big Four". 301,303,309,305. And the 302.

This is the 'Ichthys" or fish shield version. Can still be found on website.

Here is same knife with no fish. Sometimes called a Missionary Knife, with notch ground in end of bolster to keep it from being sold. I wrestled with these MKs was I doing wrong to buy them. Think I have 2 black delrins and this one. One of the blacks has two front scales with KBH shields on both sides.

These are the smooth red scaled versions. The 301.303 and 305 also came in a sawcut delrin scale version. But no 309 was issued. A 'very' rare few sawcut 305s were made into clipper versions. I knew of only two.

These are the Redbone versions to go along with the brown bone issues.

This is a page out a presentation I did when BCCI met at SMKWs. Shows last issue Camillus 309 and 305

Dymondwood 309 and 305. I would search out the lightest color DW versions I could find. Never did warm up to the dark DW. But they came with their own leather slip.
standard.jpg

Buck dropped from the catalog the 310 Whittler (now a 309 with extra blade added) long ago, but SMKW's and BPS continued to get Buck to build them and BPS stills sells them even today.
Only the sawcut black scale with a 309 stamped blade.
They will disappear as inventory goes down when the 309 production line is shut down. Only the sawcut black scale with a 309 stamped blade is currently available.

I have always wanted Buck to do a nice light brown jigged bone 300 set, they did a special edition back when, but if they are going to discontinue half of the 300s, or maybe all of them, a nice set of jigged bones I think would do well to set there souls free.
