Good day all,
I am new here so please forgive me if there is a topic about this that I missed.
I was wondering if anyone here uses or has made a knife vies or grinding jig using a 3D printer.
As I have access to a good 3D printer I was thinking that it might be a very good way to make both tools.
So if you have, please share your results, good or bad.
Happy Grinding everyone.

I have a LionSteel Ti Dust with a 3-D printed Titanium handle. There are 4 layers in the handle, but it is all one piece of metal. The “Dust” is actually made up of properly sized micro spherules which are stitched together with a laser beam. 100 of these were made in Maniago. I have seen no other 3-D printed metal knife parts.View attachment 1780369

Did you source the supplier yourself or did you use youtube? Also, I have thought about printing some scales for a spyderco, but i don't have enough experience tolerancing the circles and knife handle shape i would want to replace the paramilitary 2.

What knife blade would you want to 3d print scales for? I'm interested what you selections would be and why you chose those ones from your collection.

3-D printing in Titanium and high power laser cutters with CADCAM is just wow for the human enterprise. I have been waiting for this stuff to move up from plastics, as good as they are, to metals, and here we find ourselves.

That's an idea ... A grinding JIG / CLAMP 3D prinTED ...
Yeah ! I'm going to steal that idea ..... And run with it ...
Oooooh , plans are forming in my mind already ...

I wonder if water feed line traces could be put in jaw faces with I /O, so old left over fuel line and aquarium pumps can recirculate?

Off topic - After PM'ing with DavidMary about his services, I was thinking, having more time and talent then budget, that my very nice commercial grade, variable speed Bosh ~ 4 inch by 18 inch (or so) belt sander, and appropriate belts can be used for small thinning blades (don't want to burn out kids WSKO blade grinding attachment n belts). So I was trying to think of simple cooling solution to go with dipping to guarantee Benchmade and Bucks Rockwell is not wreaked. A generic 3D jig might help. Of course I'll use calipers, go slow and practice with kitchen beaters to keep grinds even. Hoping their s30v, s35vn, m390 and 20cv are doable.
