I'm not very good at taking photos, which is obvious, but I wanted to show off a set of chef's knives ordered by a client who is gifting them for Christmas.

The first 3 are in D2 tool steel at 63HRC including prequench/cryo/3xtemper. The last one, the Claro Walnut knife, is in AEBL at 63HRC with prequench/cryo/3xtemper. The original plan was to use AEBL on all 4, but 3 of them warped so badly after quench I couldn't get them straight during tempering. So I went with D2 instead, which has a little better edge holding over AEBL, and is a semi stainless steel. All have 8" blades with rounded and polished spines. Hand rubbed finishes on the blades and wooden handles. Balance point is between the front of the handle and my maker's mark.
