Man...These arent as bad as I thought.....Just somethings arent like I want them to be in the next bunch......all 0-1 and grounf for the kitchen. Having a shoulder thickness of around .020 to .015 on some ;)

These will be nice.....

forgot images :D

These are the ones from the below post I have intitled opinions needed (I think)

Pretty handy looking shapes, should work great, just make sure they don't get put in the dishwasher!

The handles will be purpleheart....I'll post pics tomorrow.....

Well...I have everything to about a 400 grit. I need practice on my finishes. The attahed shows a 600 grit....etch ... polish...etch...steel wool..etch..steel wool.

Its the best I can so as of yet. This one is the small 3" pairing knife.

The last pick shows what hapens bringing the 6.5" blade to 400 grit. I'll work on the others this week.

So that's what's wrong with knife #2 -- it hasn't drawn any blood yet! My first knife (a cleaver made for a buddy) came out great after it drew some of my blood. (Not to mention sweat, tears, and a whole bunch of cussing.) With Number 2 -- a kitchen/utility knife for the Mrs. -- I seem to have hit a wall. The cleaver was the culmination of several mistakes and subsequent "adjustments", but I've worked my way into a corner on #2.

Hmmm... I wonder if it has to be my blood. [Mark's cat runs for cover as he eyes her with obviously evil intent. ]

Edited to add: Nice looking blades Mr. Bgoode!

Shalom,
Mark

just a quick follow up.....I'll have to finish them when I get back in town after this week......damn! Out of the shop for another week!!!

Thanks J. I want to get these done and the RC hardness test that the client is doing back. Should be a learning experience............

purpleheart - great stuff. What finish you have in mind?

I am planing on a teak oil finish and waxing everything before shipping. I like this finish in that it it easy to maintain. What do you suggest?

I have gotten in the habit of always wearing a reperator...and I love the purpleheart. It seems to be grat in that it doesnt seem to show dings and bumps as bad as a lighter wood. What type of woods do you guys like best?

Quick Update. After being out of town for 8 days I am back and in the shop. Got these ready to shape today. Ready to rise and shine and get to work on a nice Sat. I hope......guess the rain is on the way here though

Got everything shaped and ready to go.....Almost done :D

Well....time to hone and ship off......
