Hello,

I wanna buy the 5.11 Rush 12 (the smallest one) for university and travelling. But even after watching all reviewss on youtube I can not imagine what size it has or rather what fits in. Maybe those who have it could share some pictures? Especially when its compressed, taking it in the plane cabine... ;) Thank you

It's smaller than the airlines carry on limit but can hold a ton. I've packed mine for 3 day trips numerous times and even used it on a 10 day road trip from alabama to northern Ohio. You can really over stuff it then cinch the compression straps. I've recently stopped using it because I got a frost river arrowhead trail pack but its a good little pack

That sounds huge for me. A light backpack with a big potential and costs only a few bucks.

I actually use it for my DSLR with some lenses, a 15 or 17inch laptop and just normal edc stuff (bottle of water, some books, notepad, documents etc). So it is very important for me that it can be compressed, so the backpack aint big if its not stuffed.

Yeah it'd be perfect for that. I liked it because it has 2 straps and is just wide enough not to look stupid but not as wide as a regular back pack. Lots of pockets. I picked mine up for $100 I think

Thats exact what I thought, 100$ can't be wrong :D. Unless it's too big.. Hope I can take a look at my local shop tomorrow!

Just bought it, I'm quite happy. Quality is good and size accetable, although it is cheap

Can I remove the plastic backplate? Seems to be stuck, when trying to get it out. Just in case airport security asks for it :D

You should be able to remove the plastic backplate by folding it or rolling it, and then slipping it out. At least that's how it works on my Rush 24, which is an absolutely amazing bag.
