Hey guys

Who has the 5.11 Tactical Pants? Ive seen some YouTube reviews, and they seem pretty well built and with some nice features.

Im looking to wear them on-duty, when im plain clothed. Right now, im wearing jeans, but i simply need more pockets for all the gear i bring along.

I usually place all my gear in my jacket, but its getting too hot for jackets this time of year.

So anyone have these pants? Do you recommend them? Pros? Cons? Are they true to size?

Any input appreciated. Thanks.

used 5.11s for a couple of seasons of 3gun, but exceptionally heavy for Florida... have switched to liteweight Woolrich Elite tactical in ripstop... the Woolrich pants have a front rifle mag pocket outboard of the regular pocket that breaks up the outline of a pocket pistol

I have them and enjoy them quite a bit.
Though I may prefer them with a slimmer profile, they're quite comfortable and easy to maneuver in.

The pockets are great, I like that the lower patch pockets have organizers. Those organizers help a lot when I'm carrying a bunch of stuff.

Is that because theyre abit baggy in it?

For my physical structure yes they are a bit baggy. Of course when it comes to fit it'll always be YMMV, but I really do like them.
I've contemplated having them taken in below the knees by my tailor but I'm worried I might mess up a good pair of pants.

I like them. For me, the sizing was accurate. They're comfortable and have held up well so far. The narrow pocket on the left works well for carrying a cell phone or full size pistol mag. Knives or flashlights carry well clipped on the edge of the front or rear pockets.

I prefer the Tac Lite Pros, the cotton/polyester blend version. They have an additional knife pocket on the right side that is perfect for a clipped folder or the Eskabar.

I like them, but they do kinda scream "POLICE". I wear them as training pants and they are great. When Im out in public I want to blend in. I sometimes wear the Dickie carpenter pants at Wal Mart that are about $20.00. Not as many pockets as 511 but more pockets than regular jeans and you can get them in several different colors. Made from thick heavy duty cotton. You wont look like your an off duty or plain clothes police officer but more room and pockets for what you carry.

I had a few pairs of them for work a few years ago. The colors faded fast on the coyote tan one and they really scream police. I have since stopped using them.

5.11 Taclite works great in warm weather, standard is great for 3 season use. Use them for all our Knock and announce warrants

I was just looking at a pair today.I like the looks of them, may try a pair.

have a couple pair of their lightweight ones, not my favorite pants of all time but they were cheap and have been going strong for the last 4 years or so.

I have two pair I use for hiking and yard work. Holding up well and quite comfortable. Pretty darn baggy though. Then again, I have no butt.

I really like them. Light enough not to kill me in Texas summers, but they hold up pretty well. I think the sizes are pretty spot on too. I got mine at a discount, so I really can't find anything to complain about.

You may also look at Operator Tactical Pants. IIRC, they are made for lapolicegear.com. I have a pair that I use for paintball, etc and they are great.

I bought a pair, and they didn't fit me correctly. The inseam was too long, or the legs were too short and waist was too high. I used them for yard work, and they worked great in the heat.

Well, i just ordered 2 pairs, one in od green and one in coyote. I usually wear 34W x 34L, so thats the size i got. I hope they fit. Thanks all for your input.

I wear them everyday. It seems to me that if I order 3 pairs, they fit 3 different ways; one's to short, one's to tight, and one's just right. They also start to sag and get heavy when you start to sweat in them.

I think they are the best pants around; especially the Tac Lite Pro version.
