5.11 Tactical/Tarani knives

I found another thread where STR gives a favorable review to a lockback version of the knife. He mentions they're stamped "Taiwan", which may be why the cost is so low for what you seem to be getting.

Looks like they have a framelock version as well which looks pretty cool.

I just ordered a C.U.B. Journeyman PE from New Graham and should be getting it by the end of the week, so I will have to hop back to this thread & let you know

 A friend of mine has the first responder spear point, the ergo is excellent, fit & finish are very good, top materials, very strong buid. Only complain, not easy to open quickly. That said it's an awesome folder.

I have looked at these knives and they seem very well made. My only complaint is that they only make them in serrated blades. I personaly think serrated blades are worthless so I will not be buying one ay time soon. If they ever make a real knife with a plain edge I will get one.

...really?... Ahh...one of the plain-edge elitists...:(

I guess the years upon years of cutting tasks successfully performed by myself and others with partially serrated blades were all hallucinations accomplished with imaginary knives? ;)

Manix07: All the user experiences with 5.11 knives I've encountered on various forums so far have been positive.

Ray :)

I"ve got an Investigator spear point combo edge. I think of it as a poor man's Emerson
Solid, solid lockup, and one of the best handles on any knife anywhere. Clip retention is good, finish doesn't scratch off like on some other knives costing much more. New Graham has them for about $70 shipped. I think it's a pretty good deal all around.

I like those plain edge "utility blades". If I ever feel like buying a karambit it'll almost certainly be one of those because I'm unaware of any other good quality folding karambits in that price range.

I was just handling a bunch of these yesterday, and while they don't match my personal taste, they're solidly built knives with good ergonomics and good steel. Fit and finish was quite nice, and the lockup on their mechanisms was stellar. Oh, and they're CHEAP! No reason not to get one if practical tactical is what you're looking for.

Just got it today. Seems like a pretty nice knife. Feels solid. Very lightweight. Pretty good ergonomics.

However, it was ridiculously dull.

looks like a great knife! only thing i notice is the thumb hole looks kinda small on the standard blade. karambit looks nice though.
