I'm looking for a fixed-blade knife. It should have a blade around 5 inches, give or take, and be pointy. Preferably not tanto. Ideally, there should be hand guards, but if the handle is grippy enough that's fine.
Budget? Let's say, $100 or slightly more.

It can be something like Cold Steel's Mini Tac but bigger and thicker; or like the OSS, but smaller — but I don't know if such knives exist.

Unfortunately, I think you may've missed-out on the $99 Pillar. However, the 3V SRK-C is $82 right now. There's also the straight edge and partially serrated SOG Seal Pup Elite(s)...$93 and $100, respectively.

Happy hunting.

Costs more than $100, but the ESEE 5 is pointy and a bit over 5 inch blade...🤔

And weighs over a POUND (iirc). I carried one for years, still have it AND.... if I knew a building was going to collapse on me, it is the knife I'd want to dig my way out of the rubble. That said, it is less than ideal for a daily driver. When I started carrying the knife I am about to recommend, it was so much easier. It is also far more nimble an provides a more "locked in" grip and it has a pronounced guard that is actually grooved on the underside.

(Discontinued but can still be found for roughly $125, here an there)

S.O.G. Northwest Ranger 2.0

Comes with a crap sheath, I just made my own.

There are a lot of serviceable fixed blades around that size for around that price. The Buck 119 Special always leaps to mind for general use and for heavy duty use it's hard to go wrong with the Ka-Bar Becker Companion BK2 (unless you have to carry it for a long distance hike).
